HMP Featherstone

Project Details

C.B.S. are undertaking a number of packages for BBESL at the new Featherstone Prison.  The packages include the BMS wiring, kitchen, dog handling building and workshops.

The new prison at Featherstone near Wolverhampton consists of three 480-place wings and associated prison facilities.  The emphasis of the new facility is firmly on the rehabilitation of offenders, with specialist systems being installed in the support buildings, where offenders can learn new skills and trades to help them integrate with society at the end of their sentence.

A fully modularised energy centre provides eco-friendly systems, including a biomass boiler together with a combined heat and power unit which allows the prison to recycle the energy it creates and sell the excess back to the national grid.
